Tech Support Girl

This blog was created because i needed a space to vent the reactions provoked by my job - technical support of certain software by e-mail. Sometimes people ask such questions that I really would like to say a couple of “very warm” words but I can’t! Yet it’s very difficult to keep it to myself.

Many of those things I also believe will be funny for technically literate people.

And I intend to include with the “sincere” reply the one that was actually sent. So perhaps this blog can also serve as a learning tool for myself and perhaps for someone else with the same problems! =))

I paid for it - why doesn’t it work by itself?

CUSTOMER:

You mean that I should export the data to my laptop before making the [backup software] back up?

Pls note that every time there is any update for my [device, firmware], I must back up all data before updating.
You also say that the app itself has to be reinstalled again?.. even if I have paid money for it?

ME:

You paid for the license, you obtained a registration code, which enables you to upgrade to newer versions and reinstall and redownload any number of times you need it, while on the same device.

The fact that you have to reinstall applications after upgrading the firmware of your device is a technically conditioned fact that you cannot avoid. [backup software] is probably not even meant to backup complex 3rd party software like ours which keeps your data in a private OS folder not accessible from the device - for your own data security.

In view of such situation - yes - we offer our own data backup function so you can still keep your data safe. [backup software] has nothing to do with it, you have to export the data before you do a device software upgrade (firmware upgrade, OS upgrade) or device reset or formatting only. This does not occur every day.

The fact that you paid for a software doesn’t mean it must sing and dance all by its own reading your mind and surviving any OS accident.
